Jeremy Loeliger, the ex-CEO and commissioner of Australia’s National Basketball League, will oversee the league’s development, aiming to implement international standards in governance, competition, and commercial aspects in his new role as director of ACG Sports.
The BFI president, Aadhav Arjuna, stated in a release, “This partnership is fueled by vision, designed for lasting impact, and based on a clear understanding of what Indian basketball truly needs.
“Our goal is to secure medals at the Asian Games and Olympics,” he continued.
ACG plans to establish a residential high-performance center within the year. This academy will boast top-notch facilities and aim to attract coaching expertise from the USA and Australia. It will provide an all-encompassing training program for players, coaches, and referees, covering nutrition, mental wellness, and academic balance.
“In the upcoming months, the newly formed League Council will start supervising standards and operations,” the organizers stated.
“Nationwide scouting initiatives, tailored athlete development paths, and fan engagement programs will commence to lay the groundwork,” they added.
