Anthropic prepares for IPO; Claude AI developer likely to launch public offering in October.
Anthropic is considering an IPO as soon as October as it competes with OpenAI Inc. to launch its own public offering, according to a Bloomberg report.

The confidential report, which requested anonymity, indicated that the developer of the popular Claude chatbot has initiated preliminary discussions with Wall Street firms about taking on significant roles in a potential listing.

Some sources suggest that Goldman Sachs Group Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co., and Morgan Stanley may be evaluated for important roles in the listings of both Anthropic and OpenAI.

Details about Anthropic’s IPO timeline were previously mentioned in reports, indicating that the offering could potentially raise over $60 billion.

Negotiations are ongoing, and no final decisions have been made. Representatives from Anthropic, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan declined to comment, while inquiries sent to OpenAI and Morgan Stanley have not yet been answered.

In a $30 billion funding round co-led by MGX that concluded in February, Anthropic achieved a valuation of $380 billion. The company has partnerships with major players like Microsoft Corp., Nvidia Corp., Alphabet Inc.’s Google, and Amazon.com Inc. These prominent firms have invested billions in the AI sector and have provided Anthropic with specialized chips and other technologies.
