As per a statement from the Airport Director’s office, these facilities were inaugurated in the terminal’s check-in area.
“The UDAN Yatri Cafe is an initiative of the Government of India, spearheaded by the Ministry of Civil Aviation in collaboration with the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The cafe has been created to offer quality snacks and beverages at reasonable prices, ensuring that passengers have access to affordable refreshments. It features a diverse selection of items, maintaining convenience and accessibility for all travelers,” the statement noted.
Moreover, the upgraded Wi-Fi facilities at the airport are designed to deliver passengers seamless, high-speed internet access, facilitating a more convenient and digitally enhanced travel experience.
During the event, Kinjarapu, speaking from Rajkot in Gujarat, underscored the vital importance of airports in enhancing logistics and connectivity as India advances toward becoming a developed nation. He indicated that the number of airports in India has risen from 74 to 165, making air travel accessible to more than just metropolitan residents.
He also mentioned that the UDAN scheme has led to the establishment of airports in every region of the country, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, thereby fostering inclusive civil aviation. Additionally, he stressed the significance of digital innovations such as free Wi-Fi in improving passenger convenience and overall travel experiences, alongside initiatives like the UDAN Yatri Cafe designed to offer affordable refreshments.
“The inauguration of these new facilities signifies a meaningful advancement in enhancing the passenger experience at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport.
