“Fans can request ticket refunds, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience… we hope for a swift return to normalcy in the region,” Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan’s interior minister, stated during a press briefing.
Naqvi explained that the choice followed discussions with the league’s franchises. “The Prime Minister (Shehbaz Sharif) advised everyone in Pakistan to limit their movements due to the fuel crisis. We have closed schools, implemented work-from-home policies, and extended the Eid holidays. The duration of this war remains uncertain,” Naqvi mentioned.
“However, we can’t ask people to limit their movements while accommodating 30,000 spectators in stadiums daily. Therefore, we’ve decided that no crowds will be allowed at matches as long as this crisis continues.” Naqvi also highlighted that the league would adjust its operations to lessen team travel. “While we are unsure how long the current situation may last, it is crucial to host the PSL. It’s an international brand with foreign players involved… postponing the PSL would leave no opportunity later to organize it,” he added.
