Iran-US-Israel War Live Update: US President Trump halts strikes on Iran following fruitful discussions, looking to Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf as a key contact while markets recover amid escalating West Asia tensions.

Iran-US-Israel War Live Update: On Tuesday (March 24), Iranian missiles and drones persist in their assaults on Israel and Gulf Arab nations, despite vehemently rejecting US assertions of negotiations for a wider resolution.

President Donald Trump stated the day prior that the US had participated in “very good and productive talks” with Iran and would delay strikes on energy infrastructure for five days. However, it has not clarified if attacks on other targets will proceed.

Additionally, Trump postponed a deadline for Iran to allow the reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz for shipping or face airstrikes on its power stations, which temporarily lowered oil prices and lifted stock values.

The postponement provided some relief after a weekend where the US and Iran exchanged threats of strikes that could disrupt electricity supply to millions in Iran and across the Gulf, as well as disable desalination facilities crucial for many arid nations’ drinking water, heightening concerns of potential disasters if nuclear plants were targeted.

Nonetheless, there are conflicting reports regarding the discussions Trump referenced, with Iran asserting that no talks have taken place.

“No negotiations have been held with the US,” Iranian parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf shared on X, adding that “fake news is being used to manipulate financial and oil markets.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also stated that Israel will persist in its strikes against Iran and Lebanon even as the US evaluates a ceasefire.
