Born in 1997, Linh Giang emerged from the world of professional tennis. While representing Vietnam in the Davis Cup, he maintained an impressive 4-0 win-loss record and reached a career-high ATP ranking in November 2022.
“I grew up immersed in professional tennis, where I honed my strength, technique, and competitive edge. Transitioning to pickleball allowed me to carry that foundation into the new sport, while adopting the finesse, precision, and strategy that pickleball demands,” he shared with WPBL ahead of the second season’s launch.
After making the switch to pickleball in 2024, his ascent has been rapid and remarkable. Linh Giang currently holds the No. 1 ranking in men’s singles in Asia and is the reigning Pro Men’s Singles champion on the PPA Tour Asia following his title win in Malaysia in 2025. He has also shone at the National Club Pickleball Championships in 2024 and 2025, achieving men’s doubles success with fellow player Hoang Nam Ly.
On the court, his style unmistakably reflects his tennis background. As a right-handed player who is aggressive and strategically savvy, Linh Giang combines power and speed with patience at the net. Widely recognized in Vietnam for having the nation’s best two-handed backhand, he takes pride in disrupting opponents’ rhythms and seizing pivotal moments.
“My pickleball style is defined by power, speed, and mental resilience. I leverage aggressive strokes, quick footwork, and astute tactics. This combination helps me stay strong while playing smart,” he explained.
For the Rajasthan Titans, a fresh addition to the WPBL, Linh Giang’s joining signifies a considerable commitment to success. Adding a former ATP professional with global team experience and demonstrated adaptability underscores the franchise’s intention to compete earnestly from the beginning.
As pickleball continues to establish its presence in the worldwide sports dialogue, narratives like Linh Giang’s become vital connections. His journey—an ex-tennis professional with an undefeated Davis Cup record now stepping onto the WPBL stage—provides a compelling story that captivates even the most traditional sports fans, encouraging them to reassess the sport with newfound seriousness.
