“No… I am not in a hurry for anything,” Shivakumar told ANI when inquired if he had spoken to Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge or Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi regarding the chief minister position.
On November 27, Kharge reaffirmed that the high command team will deliberate and reach a conclusion on the matter.
As the Congress-led government in the state reached the halfway point of its five-year term on November 20, the internal power struggle within the party has escalated over a potential change in leadership, fueled by claims of an alleged “power-sharing” agreement between Chief Minister D Siddaramaiah and his deputy Shivakumar in 2023.
Kharge remarked, “I will summon everyone for a discussion. Rahul Gandhi will also attend this conversation. Other members will be present as well. The CM and Dy CM will also be part of the discourse. A decision will be taken after discussions with all. There is a team. I am not acting alone. The entire high command team will discuss and decide.”
