This initiative is perceived as Apple’s strategy to offer an alternative subscription service for editing and design.
Available on the App Store starting January 28, the suite encompasses a variety of professional-level tools, such as Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage.
The Final Cut Pro video editing software, Pixelmator Pro image editing tool, and Logic Pro digital audio workstation will be accessible for both Mac and iPad, while Motion, Compressor, and MainStage will only be offered for Mac.
The suite includes a one-month free trial and is priced at $12.99 per month or $129 annually. Educators and students can avail themselves of a discounted rate of $2.99 per month or $29.99 for the year. Family Sharing allows up to six family members to share all Apple Creator Studio apps and content under a single subscription.
The tech giant from Cupertino highlights that the Creator Studio bundle features “intelligent features and premium content” within the free Keynote, Pages, and Numbers applications for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with Freeform to be added later.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, remarked, “There’s never been a more flexible and accessible way to get started with such a powerful collection of creative apps for professionals, emerging artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators to do their best work and explore their creative interests from start to finish.”
Apple Creator Studio aims to serve as a budget-friendly alternative to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Pro, which is priced at $69.99 per month.
In contrast, individual subscriptions for Adobe’s widely used applications—like Photoshop, Premiere, and Illustrator—cost $22.99 per month.

“Apple Creator Studio is a great value that empowers creators of all types to pursue their craft and enhance their skills by offering easy access to the most powerful and user-friendly tools for video editing, music making, creative imaging, and visual productivity — all enhanced with advanced intelligent features to improve and speed up workflows,” Cue added.
Apple is not mandating a subscription model, as Final Cut Pro ($299.99), Logic Pro ($199.99), Pixelmator Pro ($49.99), Motion ($49.99), Compressor ($49.99), and MainStage ($29.99) are still available for one-time purchase on the Mac App Store.
