Pandya belted a total of 11 sixes and eight fours, turning the tide against Vidarbha, who had initially taken charge by reducing Baroda to 71 for five and then 136 for six in the early stages of the game.
Batting at No 7 in his first match of the tournament, Pandya unleashed his power to register his maiden List A century in his 119th match, propelling Baroda to a solid total of 293 for nine in their 50 overs.
In the 39th over, Pandya targeted Vidarbha spinner Parth Rekhade, accumulating an astonishing 34 runs that included five sixes and a four.
The first five deliveries of the left-arm spinner were dispatched over the boundary, followed by a boundary on the last ball.
Pandya’s innings consisted of just 31 singles as he launched a counter-attack, predominantly striking his sixes in the midwicket area and over long-on, with a few soaring over long-off.
His dominance is highlighted by the fact that the next highest scorer in Baroda’s innings was Vishnu Solanki, who contributed 26 runs.
