Violence Erupts in Various Regions of Kerala Following Civic Election Results
Violence broke out overnight in various locations throughout Kerala, especially in northern districts, following the announcement of local body election results, according to police reports.

In Eramala, Kozhikode district, tensions remained high throughout the night after an alleged attack on the Indira Gandhi Bhavan, a Congress office, by CPI(M) supporters.

An FIR filed at Edachery police station revealed that around 200 individuals marched towards the Congress office, armed with dangerous weapons, and vandalized the premises, causing damages estimated at approximately 5 lakh.
Police noted that a statue of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was also damaged during the incident. Following this, UDF activists gathered at the scene, escalating the situation further.

However, the deployment of additional police personnel managed to restore order, an officer reported.

Another incident of violence was reported in Marad, where stones were allegedly thrown at a UDF victory procession, resulting in injuries to several participants.

In Sultan Bathery, Wayanad district, police opened an investigation after a car with a UDF activist and his family was reportedly attacked by about 40 CPI(M) supporters, according to officials.

In Panoor, Kannur district, the homes of several Muslim League activists were reportedly assaulted by CPI(M) supporters, with vehicles parked outside also suffering damage.

Panoor police indicated that the violence erupted after a UDF victory rally was allegedly obstructed by CPI(M) workers wielding swords and daggers, leading to injuries among some UDF leaders during the conflict.

Clashes were also documented between UDF and LDF supporters in Ulikkal, Kannur district, although police intervention managed to control the situation later in the night, an officer at the Ulikkal police station reported.

In Bedakom, Kasaragod district, an LDF victory march turned violent when CPI(M) activists reportedly blocked UDF workers passing through the area. Some officers who intervened sustained minor injuries, according to an officer.

Similar incidents of violence were reported in Neyyattinkara, Thiruvananthapuram district, following clashes between CPI(M) and BJP workers. Police stated that individuals from both factions suffered minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals. Cases will be registered once formal complaints are submitted, police confirmed.
