Rohit Sharma backs supply chain company Prozo.
Supply chain company Prozo announced on Tuesday that Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has made a strategic investment in the firm. To date, Prozo has raised a total of USD 20 million, with contributions from investors such as Sixth Sense Ventures and Jafco Asia through various funding rounds.

“I am pleased to invest in Prozo, which aims to create the backbone of India’s new-age commerce,” Sharma stated. The company did not reveal the investment amount.

Founded in 2016, Prozo currently operates 42 tech-driven warehouses that span over 2.2 million square feet and delivers to more than 24,000 pin codes, operating at a revenue run-rate of Rs 250 crore.
Rohit has recently retired from Test cricket, and despite stepping back from two of the three formats, the BCCI chose to maintain his A+ contracts, recognizing his contributions to the sport.

“The grade A+ contracts for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will remain in effect even after both announced their retirement from T-20 and Test matches. They are still integral to Indian cricket and will receive all the benefits associated with Grade A+,” said BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia to ANI.

Had the two stars been downgraded from A+ to A category contracts, which come with a Rs 5 crore retainership, each player would have faced a loss of Rs 2 crore annually.
