Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later verified that Iran targeted Soroka Medical Centre, the leading hospital in southern Israel, affecting the “civilian population” in central regions of the country.
“This morning, the terrorist regime in Iran launched missiles at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba and at a civilian population in the heart of the country. We will hold the tyrants in Tehran fully accountable,” Netanyahu expressed on the social media platform X.

The hospital has consequently requested that individuals refrain from seeking treatment due to the “extensive damage” it incurred across various sections, PTI reported. With over 1,000 beds, the hospital serves approximately 1 million residents in southern Israel.
Details regarding any injuries from the attack are currently unknown, which coincided with Israel’s strike on Iran’s Arak heavy water reactor.

The report stated that there was “no radiation danger here.” An Iranian state television correspondent, reporting live from the nearby town of Khondab, indicated that the facility had been evacuated and civilian areas around the reactor suffered no damage.
Earlier that Thursday morning, Israel had warned it would target the facility and advised the public to evacuate the area.
During a recent press conference, US President Trump remarked that the United States may or may not participate in Israeli strikes on Iran. “I might do it, I might not do it – nobody knows what I’m going to do,” he stated.
This response followed remarks from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, asserting that Tehran would “never surrender” and accusing Washington of making threats.
