The incident, which resulted in at least 241 fatalities, has now been confirmed as the country’s most devastating aviation disaster in the past two decades. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed into the BJ Medical College hostel shortly after takeoff, igniting a massive fire exacerbated by nearby LPG cylinders. Currently, investigations are underway, with forensic teams collecting DNA samples, and the National Investigation Agency has ruled out foul play.
Tata Group chairman N Chandrasekaran described this incident as “one of the darkest days” in the Group’s legacy, vowing to support the victims’ families transparently. Consequently, aviation authorities have mandated heightened safety checks for Air India’s Dreamliner fleet.
As the nation deals with the aftermath, the global news landscape has intensified—Israel’s military action against Iran has escalated tensions and oil prices, leading to renewed inflation fears.
