Amit Shah: NDA Will Establish Governments in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal by 2026.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized on Sunday (June 8) that the NDA is set to establish governments in both Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

Speaking to party officials, he praised Madurai as a symbol of ’Parivartan’ and expressed that his party’s Karyakarta Sammelan (workers meeting) would also be a catalyst for change, aiming to remove the DMK from power.

He alleged that the DMK’s corrupt governance has harmed the poor, women, and children in Tamil Nadu, urging party members to commit to ousting the Stalin-led Dravidian party from authority.
Shah pointed out that at least two classrooms in every school throughout Tamil Nadu could have been constructed with the funds lost due to TASMAC irregularities.

Furthermore, he challenged Stalin to clarify whether all of DMK’s 2021 electoral promises have been fulfilled.

In the upcoming 2026 Assembly election, he declared that BJP-AIADMK would create the NDA government in Tamil Nadu, ensuring that the people would defeat the DMK, which he dubbed a 100% failure government. “In 2026, the NDA will secure governments in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal,” Shah stated, highlighting that the BJP government at the Centre has allocated ₹6.80 lakh crore over the past decade, yet Chief Minister M K Stalin questions what the Centre has done for TN.

Before addressing state, district, and mandal level office bearers, Shah led a meeting of the Tamil Nadu BJP’s core committee. Prior to these discussions, he paid his respects at the Madurai Meenakshi temple.

During his visit to Tamil Nadu in April, he announced the restoration of ties with the AIADMK.

In his speech, BJP state president Nainar Nagendran criticized the DMK administration regarding law and order issues, questioning the police about the targeted killings of elderly individuals in villages of the western Kongu region.

He urged party members to work diligently and described the alliance with AIADMK as a ”fitting partnership.”

Nagendran expressed his determination to maximize the number of MLAs in the Assembly, likening it to a ”yatra.”

He hailed Amit Shah as ”India’s Iron Man, another Sardar Vallabhai Patel.” BJP leader K Annamalai reiterated that the sole aim is to unseat the DMK from governance in the state, urging members to proceed with this ”sankalpa” (resolution).

Shah’s arrival on Saturday night marked his second vital visit to Tamil Nadu in two months, aimed at energizing the party’s operations ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections in the state.

This visit came just a week after the ruling DMK held its significant general council meeting here, targeting the BJP and passing resolutions that criticized the Centre.
