The armed forces executed a sweeping assault with long-range air, sea, and ground-based precision munitions, along with UAVs, aimed at design bureaus, facilities for the production and repair of weapons and military equipment in Ukraine, drone assembly workshops, flight training centers, and stockpiles of arms and military hardware, according to a statement.
“The objectives of the strike have been accomplished. All designated targets were engaged,” the statement continued.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia deployed 452 UAVs, including Iranian-manufactured Shahed-type suicide drones, along with 45 missiles, resulting in four fatalities.
It noted that Ukraine’s air defenses intercepted 199 drones, while another 169 vanished from radar—likely serving as decoys to saturate Ukrainian defense systems.
Ukrainian forces also intercepted 36 missiles, including the Iskander-M ballistic missile, which targeted nearly all regions of Ukraine, including Volyn, Lviv, Ternopil, Kyiv, Sumy, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv, as reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschoko stated that at least four individuals were killed and 20 others injured, with 16 requiring hospitalization.
Multiple fires erupted throughout Kyiv as drones hit residential buildings and other civilian infrastructures, according to Klitschoko.
Explosions were reported in various districts, the mayor added.
In the western city of Ternopil, Russia targeted infrastructure and industrial sites with Shahed drones and Kalibr cruise missiles, as quoted by Mayor Serhii Nadal from Ukrainska Pravda, a liberal media outlet.
Nadal reported that part of the city experienced power outages, and five individuals were injured during the attack.
Ternopil is situated hundreds of kilometers from the front lines and is not typically a target for Russian hostilities.
Casualties were also reported in Lutsk in northwestern Ukraine. Mayor Ihor Polishchuk mentioned that at least five residents sustained injuries due to the assault.
Polishchuk indicated that the roof of an apartment building suffered damage, along with vehicles, commercial properties, and a government facility.
The mayor added that Russia attacked Lutsk with 15 drones and six missiles.
Local media indicated that most damages in residential areas stemmed from falling debris of destroyed aerial targets.
