Among the significant inaugurations is the new underground route of the Kanpur Metro from Chunniganj to Kanpur Central, which costs over ₹2,120 crore. This project features 14 planned stations, including five new underground ones, connecting key city destinations such as Z Square Mall, Green Park Stadium, and Somdutt Plaza.
Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated the expansion and reinforcement work of GT Road. Several initiatives will be undertaken to enhance the region’s power generation capacity. Modi also laid the groundwork for a 220 kV substation in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Gautam Buddh Nagar, to address the region’s growing energy needs.
Modi inaugurated 132 kV substations valued at over ₹320 crore at Ecotech-8 and Ecotech-10 in Greater Noida. He also launched a 660 MW Panki Thermal Power Extension Project in Kanpur, which is worth more than ₹8,300 crore and will bolster energy capacity throughout the state.

The Prime Minister inaugurated three 660 MW units of the Ghatampur Thermal Electricity Project, valued at over ₹9,330 crore, which will greatly enhance power supplies.
He also inaugurated rail-over bridges at the Panki Power House Railway Crossing and Panki Dham Crossing on Panki Road at Kalyanpur Panki Mandir in Kanpur. This development will aid the logistics of the Panki Thermal Power Extension Project by facilitating coal and oil transportation while reducing traffic congestion for local residents.
PM Modi launched a 40 MLD (Million Liters per day) tertiary treatment plant in Bingawan, Kanpur, worth over ₹290 crore, which will enable the reuse of treated sewage water.
To improve road infrastructure in the region, he laid the foundation stone for the widening and strengthening of Gauria Pali Marg for industrial development in Kanpur Nagar District and the expansion of the road connecting Narwal Mode (AH-1) on Prayagraj Highway to Kanpur Defence Node (4 lanes) under the Defence Corridor in Kanpur Nagar District, which will greatly enhance connectivity for the Defence Corridor along with logistics and accessibility.

The Prime Minister presented certificates and cheques to beneficiaries of the PM Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojna, National Livelihood Mission, and PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed arrangements in Kanpur ahead of Modi’s scheduled visit.
