Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, his office said Sunday.
In light of Biden’s recent diagnosis, former Sen. Lou D’Allesandro said he believes Biden will put up a strong fight.
“He’s a fighter. He’ll give it everything. He’s got it all set up to pull through. But nothing’s easy in this life, you know? He beat challenges aggressively with every bit of energy [he] has and with every ounce of courage [he] could manifest. He’s that kind of guy. He fights until the end, and he’ll do this,” D’Allesandro said.

News 9 reached out to New Hampshire’s congressional delegation for their reactions to Biden’s diagnosis.
In a statement to News 9, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said:
“I’m very sorry to hear about the Former President’s diagnosis. My thoughts are with him and the whole Biden family during this difficult time.”
Also in a statement to News 9, U.S. Rep. Maggie Goodlander said:
“My heart is with President Biden and his family. I’m praying for him.”
In a statement posted on X on Sunday, Sen. Maggie Hassan said:
“Deeply saddened to hear this awful news. My prayers are with President Biden, Jill, and their family.”
Finally, U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas said in a statement to News 9:
“I’m thinking of his family as he faces this challenge. Wishing him comfort, strength, and a full recovery.”
In addition to the state’s congressional delegation, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley said in a statement to News 9:
“We send our heartfelt prayers to President Biden for a swift and complete recovery. Much love to the entire Biden family during this challenging time.”
