BASEBALL

Wrightstown 10-3, Waupaca 0-2

WRIGHTSTOWN – The Tigers swept the North Eastern Conference doubleheader, beating Waupaca 10-0 in the first game and 3-2 in the second game.

Trevor Vande Hey pitched a five-inning complete game in the first game. He allowed four hits, did not walk a batter and struck out six.

Vande Hey was also 3-for-3 at the plate, scored four runs and drove in two runs. He had two triples and a double.

Bennett Stengel added two hits, Mason Driscoll drove in three runs, and Aiden Humphreys and Jake Buenning each had two RBIs for Wrightstown.

In the second game, the Tigers (15-5 overall, 13-2 NEC) scored a run in the eighth inning for the win.

Driscoll walked and advanced to second on a balk. Caleb Podgorski flew out to deep right and Driscoll advanced to third. Buenning popped out in foul territory to the first baseman, who caught it while falling down and Driscoll tagged up and scored on the play.

Will Schoenwalder set Waupaca down in order in the bottom of the eighth for the win. He went 2⅔ scoreless innings and allowed only one hit after Jacob Miller pitched 5⅓ innings, allowed two runs and struck out five.

Vande Hey drove in two runs for the Tigers, who finished with four hits.

John Zeamer had two hits, including a triple, and drove in a run for Waupaca. AJ McDonald also had two hits.

Benji Becker pitched six innings for the Comets. He allowed four hits, two runs (one earned) and struck out five.

Denmark 9-3, Freedom 7-4

FREEDOM – The Vikings won the opener 9-7, while Freedom won the second game 4-3 in a North Eastern Conference doubleheader split.

Thomas Bienapfl had two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs in the first game for Denmark. Connor Paplham also drove in three runs.

Caden Kersten pitched 2⅓ innings to get the win. He did not allow a hit or a run and struck out four.

Drew Kortz had two hits for Freedom and Carson Peters drove in three runs.

Chase Calmes tossed a complete-game five-hitter in the second game for Freedom. He struck out nine batters.

Corey Mathison hit a solo home run, had two hits and finished with three RBIs for Freedom.

Cade Delarwelle had two hits, including a solo home run, for Denmark. Charles Peterson also had two hits, including a double.

Marinette 8-4, Fox Valley Lutheran 3-6

MARINETTE – Maveric Williamson hit a grand slam in the first inning to power the Marines over the Foxes in an 8-3 victory in the first game of the doubleheader.

Justin Kruse earned the win for Marinette. He gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking three.

Chase MacGregor had two hits for Marinette.

Jacob Bickel had a two-run single in the first inning for FVL.

In the second game, Luke Heimerl earned the win for the Foxes in their 6-4 victory. He gave up eight hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking one.

Lincoln Thede and Zach Daily each had two hits for FVL.

Chase MacGregor and Wyatt Stauss each collected two hits for Marinette.

SOFTBALL

Superior 8, Kimberly 5

CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Papermakers rallied from a 5-0 deficit after two innings to tie the game, but Superior pulled away for the win.

Kylie Van Handel drove in two runs for the Papermakers in the loss.

Chippewa Falls 6, Kimberly 5

CHIPPEWA FALLS – Ali Geist singled home two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Chippewa Falls to the walk-off win over the Papermakers.

Kylie Van Handel drove in four runs for Kimberly. Sophie Hermus added two hits and Paige Wyngaard hit a double.

GIRLS SOCCER

Kimberly 2, Waunakee 2

KIMBERLY – The Papermakers trailed 2-0 at halftime but rallied for the tie.

Katie Owens and Vada Sousek scored goals for Kimberly. Grace Peters and Bee Brockert had assists.

Brockert made four saves in goal for the Papermakers.

Hortonville Triangular

HORTONVILLE – Winneconne won both of its games, beating Hortonville 3-0 and Seymour 2-0.

Suri Hottmann had two goals in the win over Hortonville. Harper Neace scored the other goal.

Abigail Oleson led the Wolves with two assists.

Winneconne goalie Emery Sommers made two saves.

In the win over Seymour, Neace and Olivia Godfroy scored the goals for Winneconne. Hottmann and Jada Kaiser had assists.

Sommers made one save in goal.

Wrightstown Quad

WRIGHTSTOWN – The Tigers beat Kohler 1-0 and lost to Green Bay Preble 3-0.

Claire Theunis scored the goal for Wrightstown in the win over Kohler. Allie VandenHeuvel had an assist.

St. Mary’s Springs 1, Kaukauna 0

KIEL – Emily Taylor scored for Springs in the victory over the Ghosts.

Ledgers goalie Analise Coon made nine saves.
