4th Annual Banking Transformation Summit by CNBC-TV18 and Nucleus Software
Artificial Intelligence is propelling India’s banking sector towards significant advancements in its digital evolution. As financial institutions incorporate AI into lending, risk management, compliance, and customer interactions, a new chapter in this transformation unfolds—one where the efficacy of AI will be assessed not just on innovation, but also on its responsible large-scale implementation.

In this context, the CNBC-TV18 Banking Transformation Summit, presented by Nucleus Software, is back for its 4th edition, uniting the country’s most influential figures from banks, NBFCs, fintech, and government to deliberate on the next stage of India’s financial development.

This year’s theme, ‘Scaling Bharat Banking with Responsible AI,’ mirrors the industry’s shifting priorities as financial institutions aim to amplify AI-driven innovation while maintaining trust, ensuring regulatory compliance, and responsibly broadening access to financial services.

During an exclusive preview for the summit, Vishnu R Dusad, Co-founder and Managing Director of Nucleus Software, emphasized the pivotal role AI is anticipated to play in core banking operations. He addressed India’s distinctive edge in digital public infrastructure and how AI could foster a more inclusive financial ecosystem. “With AI, we will reach the masses in the farthest reaches of our country, provide hyper-personalization, and offer them opportunities to transform their lives,” stated Mr. Dusad.

Mr. Dusad also touched on how AI may influence crucial decisions throughout the banking value chain. “It’s still a ways off. Some challenges persist. However, with clearly defined guidelines, we can tackle these challenges and ensure that AI’s contributions to society are delivered appropriately.”

The Banking Transformation Summit has, over the years, cemented its place as one of India’s premier platforms discussing the future of banking. Past editions have showcased prominent leaders like V Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India; J Swaminathan, Deputy Governor, RBI; Dinesh Kumar Khara, former Chairman, SBI; Uday Kotak, Founder & Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank; and K V Kamath, Chairman, Jio Financial Services, among others, offering forward-thinking insights that have influenced the dialogue surrounding India’s financial landscape.

This year’s summit will feature our Guest of Honour Shirish Chandra Murmu, Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, who will deliver a keynote address on ‘Vision for Responsible AI, Resilient Banking.’ This will be complemented by leadership discussions: Banking CEOs will take part in a panel on ‘Credit Redrawn: Lending Smarter, Faster Across Bharat,’ Fintech innovators will explore ‘AI, Compliance & Growth: Responsible Fintech for Bharat,’ and NBFC leaders will engage in discussions on ‘NBFC Redrawn: Intelligent by Design, Trusted by Bharat.’ Additionally, there will be a policy-centric fireside chat, ‘AI-Powered Ambitions: Banking on Policy,’ focusing on the government’s perspective on facilitating AI-driven transformation in financial services. The discussions at this year’s summit aim to transcend technology and examine how intelligence, trust, and governance can collectively influence the future of India’s banking sector. The Banking Transformation Summit is scheduled for 19 August 2026 in Mumbai.
