The final was tightly contested, with both judokas patiently seeking an opportunity. Harsh maintained defensive discipline before executing the crucial move at the right moment.
With under a minute left on the clock, the Indian showcased a brilliant attack to gain a waza-ari, taking a lead that he held firmly until the final buzzer, securing the most significant title of his career.

He kicked off his journey with an ippon win against Malawi’s Chikondi Kathewera before defeating Vanuatu’s Alan Monthouel in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Harsh narrowly defeated Australia’s Pedro Carlos Antun Neto by waza-ari, setting the stage for another clash with an Australian opponent in the gold medal match.
Harsh has steadily risen to become one of India’s top judokas, regularly finishing on the podium at national ranking events and selection trials. His performances have led to frequent participation in the International Judo Federation (IJF) World Tour, where he has proudly represented India at prestigious events, including the Tokyo Grand Slam, Asian Championships, and multiple IJF Grand Prix tournaments.
