According to Google, Ask Google Pay can analyze users’ transaction histories to deliver insights that help them better comprehend their expenditures. Users can also request information on subjects such as mutual funds, SIPs (Systematic Investment Plans), compounding interest, and various tax frameworks.
The AI assistant further aids users in discovering customized offers, such as identifying appropriate credit card options for specific needs like travel expenses.
The feature supports both text and voice queries and is available in 10 different Indian languages, as stated by Google.
Google Pay has indicated that this tool is designed to offer financial information and insights for educational purposes while ensuring users’ financial data remains under their control.
The launch coincides with the trend of digital payment platforms incorporating artificial intelligence to provide personalized financial services beyond mere transactions. With these AI-driven features, payment applications aim to assist users in tracking expenses, making informed financial choices, and accessing relevant financial products. Google has also enhanced its credit offerings with the introduction of the Google Pay Flex SBI Card, a co-branded credit card created in collaboration with SBI Card. The company noted that the new AI feature and the credit card launch are part of its strategy to broaden everyday financial tools within Google Pay.
