iOS 27 Public Beta Released: Everything You Should Know and How to Experience It Today
Apple has introduced the public beta of iOS 27, offering iPhone users an opportunity to experience several new features prior to the official release later this year. This update includes a more intelligent AI Siri, enhanced Apple Intelligence features, and additional Liquid Glass customisation options.

The final version is anticipated to launch alongside Apple’s new iPhone lineup this September, but users eager to sample the software early can now download the beta version. As it is still in testing, expect potential bugs, app issues, and increased battery drain compared to the final release. If you’re considering exploring the latest software ahead of everyone else, here’s everything you should know about the iOS 27 public beta.

Upon installing the iOS 27 public beta, one of the standout features to try is the upgraded Siri AI. Apple has enhanced Siri with its newest Apple Intelligence system, allowing for more natural dialogues, screen recognition, and task execution across various apps.
Siri can now search your personal content more efficiently. For instance, you can request Siri to locate an old photo, find an email buried in your inbox, or access a saved note on your iPhone.
This version also enhances Liquid Glass, making buttons, menus, and text clearer by minimizing background distractions and improving contrast, thereby making everything more readable.

A new feature to test is the Liquid Glass customisation slider, enabling you to modify the appearance from a clear glass effect to a more tinted style.

Apple claims that apps will now launch 30% faster, with nearby AirDrop transfers benefitting from an 80% speed increase. New photos and videos may also load in the Photos app up to 70% quicker. Additionally, system performance has been enhanced for older devices. Unlocking the phone, navigating the Home Screen, switching between Lock Screens, and opening the Camera will all be expedited.

Following its official launch in September, iOS 27 will be compatible with various iPhone models. The update will support the new iPhone 17 series, including the iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, and iPhone 17e. It will also be available for the iPhone 16, iPhone 15, iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and iPhone 11 series, encompassing their Pro, Pro Max, Plus, and mini versions.

To try out the iOS 27 public beta, you must first enroll in Apple’s Beta Software Program. Visit beta.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account linked to your iPhone.

Once you’ve completed registration, open your iPhone and navigate to Settings, General, Software Update. Tap Beta Updates, choose iOS 27 Public Beta, and follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update.
