Jubilant FoodWorks Receives ₹46.9 Crore GST Notice
Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL), a prominent operator of quick-service restaurants in India, has been issued a goods and services tax (GST) demand notice amounting to ₹46.9 crore, as per a regulatory filing by the company.

JFL indicated its intention to contest the GST department’s notice.

The show-cause notice claims that there has been a reversal of the Input Tax Credit (ITC) in the “incorrected table” during the filing of JFL’s GST return, according to the flagship firm of the Jubilant Bhartia Group.
“The company has received a show-cause notice (SCN) from the GST Department proposing a GST demand of ₹46,90,96,051,” stated JFL, which holds franchise rights for renowned global QSR (quick-service restaurant) brands like Domino’s and Popeyes.

The Bhartia family-promoted firm expressed that it “believes the SCN issued fails to acknowledge the merits” of its submissions.

“The company is currently preparing detailed objections within the specified timelines outlined in the SCN. Following these filings, the contested SCN and proposed demand are expected to be retracted,” it noted.

JFL further mentioned that the “alleged incorrect presentation/classification of ITC reversal” bears “no financial impact” on the company.

JFL received the show-cause notice on July 13.
