Lonavala-Karjat Landslide: Several Long-Distance, Intercity, and Special Train Services Suspended Until July 17

Lonavala-Karjat Landslide: Several Long-Distance, Intercity, and Special Train Services Suspended Until July 17
On Thursday, June 9, the Central Railway (CR) announced the temporary cancellation of several long-distance, intercity, and special trains due to heavy monsoon rains causing landslides in multiple areas along the Lonavala-Karjat Section in Maharashtra. This has resulted in significant disruptions on one of the state’s busiest corridors.

The railway authorities have decided to cancel numerous trains until July 17, as stated in an official announcement.

The landslides, which took place on July 6 in the Bhor Ghat section between Thakurwadi and Monkey Hill, impacted all three railway lines. While the Middle line was deemed safe by July 7, extensive damage to the other tracks required continuous restoration efforts.
