Beaumont will continue to play in domestic cricket and will conclude her international career after her final appearance in the four-day Test against India at Lord’s starting this Friday.
Since her debut in 2009, she has made 260 appearances for England. Beaumont retires as the leading century-maker in one-day internationals for England Women, achieving 12 hundreds and a total of 14 international centuries across all formats.
“Representing England for nearly 17 years has been the greatest privilege,” Beaumont expressed in a statement.
“When I first fell in love with cricket as a young girl, I never imagined that playing for England was a possibility. It fills me with joy to reflect on how many girls and boys have been inspired, particularly this summer, and how much the game has evolved in our country.
“We’ve always aimed to advance the game for the next generation, and now the moment has come for me to pass that honor to the next wave of England players.”
The right-hander was instrumental in England’s triumph at the 2017 Women’s World Cup on home soil, finishing as the tournament’s top run-scorer with 410 runs and earning the title of Player of the Tournament.
Beaumont is one of only two English women to achieve international centuries in all three formats and became the first England woman to score a double-century in Test cricket, having registered 208 against Australia during the 2023 Ashes — the highest score ever by an Englishwoman in Tests.
