Audience Left Speechless by President Trump's Comments at Theodore Roosevelt Library Event
During a speech at the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library event, President Donald Trump made a remark that left the audience in disbelief. While discussing father-son duos who have been honored with the Congressional Medal of Honor—a distinguished military accolade awarded by the United States government and referred to by Trump as the “nation’s highest military award for courage above and beyond the call of duty”—he highlighted that Theodore Roosevelt and his son are one of only two pairs to receive this commendation. He also referenced Douglas MacArthur and his father Arthur as the only other pair recipients.

Trump then proceeded to deliver a bold joke regarding himself and his sons, suggesting he might give the medal to them. “I think I’ll give one to myself, and one to them,” he said, alluding to a claim on the prestigious medal for his family.

“We’ll have a threesome,” he added, and it was this phrasing that caused the audience to react with shock.
Following the audience’s response, he mentioned that he would choose only one of his two sons to award the medal to.

In addition to his comments about the Congressional Medal, he provided a justification for why he believed he should receive the honor.

“I’ll get one for taking on Russia, Russia, Russia, or something,” Trump stated, further suggesting that they would become the third pair, joining the distinguished father-son teams that have previously received the medal.
