Four Indian Architectural Wonders Acknowledged as Among the World’s Most Stunning in 2026
India has made significant strides in the Prix Versailles 2026 World Selection, with four locations recognized among the world’s top-designed airports, hotels, and restaurants. This annual list honors outstanding achievements in architecture and design across various categories such as airports, hotels, restaurants, and museums.

The country’s contenders include Terminal 2 of Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati and Terminal 1 of Navi Mumbai International Airport in the airport category, The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace in Khajuraho for hotels, and Rosso in Hinganigada for restaurants.

This year, no Indian museum was selected in the museum category, which featured institutions from countries such as the UAE, China, Japan, Lithuania, the United States, and Uzbekistan.

Two Indian airport projects earned recognition in the 2026 World Selection.

Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Terminal 2

The new terminal in Guwahati showcases the culture and natural heritage of Northeast India. Inspired by the bamboo orchid, it boasts expansive ceilings, local artwork, and traditional craftsmanship.

Navi Mumbai International Airport, Terminal 1

Launched in 2025, this terminal, crafted by Zaha Hadid Architects, is inspired by the lotus flower. It features lotus-shaped columns, vast open spaces, and digital art installations.

This 350-year-old fortress in Madhya Pradesh has been transformed into a luxury hotel adjacent to Panna National Park. Nestled among hills, forests, and a lake, the property harmoniously blends heritage architecture with contemporary hospitality.

World’s Most Beautiful RestaurantsRosso, Hinganigada

Rosso, India’s entry in the restaurant category, is situated within Hotel Irada in Pune Wine Country. Overlooking lush vineyards and forests, the restaurant merges Southern Italian cuisine with décor inspired by Indian and Mediterranean design.
