Cricbuzz reported that the altercation, which involved Sooryavanshi and players from Sri Lanka A, including Vishen Halambage, led to discussions within the Sri Lankan camp post-match. Certain squad members reportedly felt an apology should be made to the Indian team.
The players who reached out to Sooryavanshi were not part of the Sri Lanka A team involved in the incident but are known to have interacted with the young player during the IPL.
While it’s unclear if an official apology was relayed, the report indicated that several individuals within the Sri Lankan setup were dissatisfied with the situation and discussed it in the dressing room after the game.

Needing 17 runs to win in the Super Over, India could only muster nine runs against bowler Kaguthas Mathulan, resulting in their second consecutive loss. Sooryavanshi, who faced the final three deliveries from Mathulan, scored only six runs, including a boundary.
Once the match concluded, the Lankan team was seen celebrating exuberantly as Sooryavanshi and his partner Suryansh Shedge walked toward the pavilion.
However, TV cameras captured Sooryavanshi angrily confronting the tall fast bowler Mathulan, with teammate Vishen Halambage intervening. The likely trigger was something said by the bowler after successfully restricting the 15-year-old for three deliveries.
Sooryavanshi was observed pushing the fielder, who in turn attempted to retaliate. Senior Sri Lankan international Niroshan Dickwella stepped in to prevent the situation from escalating.
As Sooryavanshi made his way back to the pavilion, he appeared visibly upset following India’s inability to chase the target amid diminishing light.
Initially, it seemed there was no provision for a Super Over, as India A skipper Tilak Varma had a prolonged and heated discussion with the on-field umpires, who eventually agreed after ten minutes.
During this conversation, Sooryavanshi attempted to join the discussion, but head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar pulled him back.
It will be intriguing to see whether match referee Pradeep Jeyapragash will impose any official sanction or merely issue a warning to the players.
