Barcelona GP: Lewis Hamilton becomes oldest winner of an F1 race in 56 years
Ferrari star Lewis Hamilton claimed his first Grand Prix (GP) victory with his new team by finishing first in Barcelona on Sunday, thereby ending Kimi Antonelli’s five-race winning streak this season.

Hamilton is now the oldest Formula One winner since Australian legend Jack Brabham in 1970.

This victory at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix marks Hamilton’s first win since Belgium 2024, his seventh at the Circuit de Catalunya, and the 106th win of his remarkable career as a seven-time world champion.
Championship leader Antonelli, aged 19, retired five laps from the finish line, reducing his lead over Hamilton to 41 points. George Russell finished in second place for Mercedes, with McLaren’s Lando Norris taking third.

The late champion Brabham was 43 years and 11 months old when he recorded his last F1 victory in South Africa.
