If you’re considering a trip to Dubai, you might not have to wait long for your visa approvals anymore. The emirate has shared that single-entry tourist visas will be processed within 48 working hours after applicants submit all necessary documents.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai announced that visitors can apply for either 30-day or 60-day single-entry tourist visas, with approvals anticipated within 48 hours. This initiative aims to streamline the entry process and enhance Dubai’s appeal for tourists, business travelers, and families planning spontaneous trips.

In an Instagram update, the GDRFA indicated that applicants can secure a tourist visa by completing the required steps and submitting the relevant documents.
Visa options and fees

As per the GDRFA, the cost for a 30-day single-entry tourist visa is AED 200, while a 60-day visa is AED 300, not including applicable taxes and additional fees.

– 30-day tourist visa fee: AED 200.

– 60-day tourist visa fee: AED 300.

– Plus value added tax (5%).

– Security deposit: No security deposit is needed for this type of visa.

– Additional fees (if the sponsored individual is in the UAE):

Knowledge Dirham: AED 10.

Innovation Dirham: AED 10.

Fee for those inside UAE: 500 Dirhams.

Documents Required

To apply for a tourist visa, travelers need to provide a passport photo and a copy of a passport that is valid for at least six months. Nationals from certain countries, including Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan, may also have to produce a copy of their national identity card.

Additionally, applicants must include a travel ticket to continue their journey or a ticket to depart from the UAE, as well as valid medical insurance.

Who needs to apply?

While citizens from around 70 countries can benefit from visa-on-arrival options in the UAE, travelers from nations not included in those provisions must secure a visa prior to travel.

Visa applications can be submitted via the GDRFA’s website or through their smart application.

Step 1: Access the smart services portal using (UAE pass or username)

Step 2: Choose the required visa service and complete the application form.

Step 3: Pay the applicable fees.
