The counting for the AMC elections took place smoothly at the Aizawl deputy commissioner’s office. The Mizoram State Election Commission announced the results.
The main opposition, the Mizo National Front (MNF), which had won the last election in 2021 with 11 seats, managed to win only one ward this time, while the Congress also claimed a seat. In 2021, ZPM had obtained six seats.
This election saw the ZPM, MNF, and Congress each fielding 19 candidates. The BJP contested 11 seats but did not win any.

The AMC was created in 2010 under the Mizoram Municipalities Act, 2007. It consists of 19 wards, with six seats reserved for women, all of which were won by the ZPM.
The initial AMC elections in 2010 were won by the Congress, followed by two consecutive victories for the MNF in 2015 and 2021.
A voter turnout of 62.77% was recorded from 2.39 lakh voters in the civic polls held on April 21.
