Ex-Australian cricketer David Warner detained for driving under the influence.
Former Australian opener David Warner was arrested on Tuesday for driving under the influence after registering well above the legal limit during a random breath test in Maroubra.

According to 7News, Warner is set to appear in court next month.

The Maroubra police stopped Warner’s vehicle, which had been pulled over well before reaching the testing site at Malabar Road, and conducted a breath test that produced a positive result.
The 39-year-old batsman, currently with Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Cricket League, was taken to a local police station where he recorded a breath alcohol level of 0.104 — twice the legal limit. He was later released from custody.

Nonetheless, the legal situation will not impede Warner’s travel plans to compete in PSL 2026.

The left-handed batsman was in Sydney on a personal visit, utilizing a seven-day break before the Kings’ next match against Peshawar Zalmi on April 9.

The Kings, under Warner’s leadership, currently hold second place in the PSL standings with six points from three matches, trailing the Multan Sultans, who have eight points from five matches.

In three matches so far in this year’s PSL, Warner has accumulated 93 runs, including one fifty.
