NTPC Green Energy Ltd, which is state-owned, has successfully launched 150 MW of solar energy within a 300 MW project located in Rajasthan, enhancing its total renewable energy capacity.
This capacity is attributed to Project Sixteen Renewable Power Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Pvt Ltd, the joint venture of the company, as noted in the exchange report. The unit has been officially recognized as commercially operational since April 18, 2026.
Following this development, NTPC Green Energy’s overall installed capacity has grown to 10,276.40 MW from 10,126.40 MW previously, further establishing its presence in the renewable energy sector, according to the filing.
Q3 results
In the December quarter (Q3), NTPC Green Energy reported a net profit of ₹17.5 crore, reflecting a 73% decline year-on-year from ₹65.6 crore. Conversely, revenue increased by 29.4%, reaching ₹653.3 crore, compared to ₹505 crore during the same period last year.
The operating performance showed resilience, with EBITDA rising by 33.8% year-on-year to ₹567 crore. Margins also saw an uptick, with the EBITDA margin increasing to 86.8% from 84% a year prior.
NTPC Green Energy Ltd serves as the primary entity for NTPC’s clean energy initiatives and functions as a parent company for NTPC’s green business projects, utilizing both organic and inorganic strategies.
