Both airlines will maintain their regular services to Jeddah and Muscat on that date. There will be 10 flights scheduled between India and Jeddah. Air India is set to operate one return flight each from Delhi and Mumbai, while Air India Express will conduct one service each from Bengaluru, Kozhikode, and Mangalore.
For Muscat, Air India Express plans to operate 12 scheduled flights on March 16. This includes one flight each from Delhi, Kannur, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram, as well as two flights from Kochi.
These operations are part of both carriers’ ongoing initiatives to ensure connectivity between India and important destinations in West Asia in response to rising passenger demand.
Additionally, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted temporary relaxations in pilot flight duty time limitations (FDTL) for Air India. This decision is due to ongoing airspace restrictions over parts of West Asia, including the closure of airspace over Iran and Iraq, which continue to impact global flight operations.
As a result, airlines have had to reroute flights along longer paths, significantly extending flying times on certain international routes.
