Kamal Haasan was among six individuals chosen to represent Tamil Nadu in the Rajya Sabha.
Officials reported that Opposition parties did not submit nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections, according to PTI. “BJP’s Kanad Purkayastha and Asom Gana Parishad’s Birendra Prasad Baishya are declared elected unopposed as there are no opposition candidates,” an official confirmed.
The deadline for submitting nominations was Thursday, June 12.
