The company emphasized its unwavering commitment to zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation, non-consensual nudity, and unwanted sexual content. High-priority violative content, including Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), is quickly removed, with offending accounts facing appropriate enforcement actions. In instances of child sexual exploitation, X will report accounts to law enforcement authorities as needed.
Key updates to the Grok account
X has implemented new technological measures to prevent Grok from editing images of real individuals in revealing attire, such as bikinis. This restriction is applicable to all users, including paid subscribers.
Image creation and editing through Grok on X is now limited exclusively to paid subscribers. The company states that this measure adds an additional layer of accountability and helps deter misuse of the tool for illegal or policy-violating activities.
Geoblocking in restricted jurisdictions
X has also confirmed the geoblocking of image generation involving real people in bikinis, underwear, and similar clothing in areas where such content is prohibited.
Safety rules remain unchanged
The platform clarified that these updates do not modify its existing safety framework. All AI prompts and AI-generated content on X must continue to comply with X Rules, irrespective of whether users are free or paid subscribers.
X stated that its safety teams are working continuously to implement safeguards, eliminate illegal or violating content, permanently suspend accounts when necessary, and collaborate with local governments and law enforcement agencies.
Industry-wide challenge
Recognizing the rapid development of generative AI, X noted that the challenge extends beyond a single platform. The company also mentioned that it is collaborating closely with users, partners, regulators, and other platforms to address emerging risks more swiftly.
