NASA astronauts to answer Florida students’ questions

NASA said in an announcement published Thursday 05 November 2026 that students in Florida would hear from NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney. The astronauts will answer prerecorded STEM questions while aboard the International Space Station.

The Earth-to-space call will begin at 10:40 a.m. EST Tuesday, Nov. 10. It will stream live on the agency’s Learn With NASA YouTube channel.

Freedom Crossing Academy in St. Johns, Florida, will host the event for students in grades K-12 and the community. NASA said the opportunity aims to deepen understanding of space exploration and enhance awareness of STEM careers.

The call will connect Florida students with Watkins and Delaney aboard the International Space Station. The astronauts will take prerecorded questions from students in grades K-12. The event is also intended for members of the community.

The questions were recorded in advance for the Earth-to-space call. The call will be carried live through the agency’s Learn With NASA YouTube channel. NASA described the event as a unique opportunity for students and the community.

NASA said people have lived and worked continuously aboard the International Space Station for more than 26 years. During that time, people have advanced scientific knowledge and made research breakthroughs not possible on Earth.

The space station helps NASA understand and overcome the challenges of human spaceflight. NASA said it also helps expand commercial opportunities in low Earth orbit and build on the foundation for long-duration missions to the Moon, as part of the Artemis program, and to Mars.
