With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, June 5, preorders for the new gaming console filled up quickly. Fans from across the internet are eager to get their hands on the latest Nintendo system.

Although the Nintendo Switch 2 is sold out at just about every retailer online, such as Walmart, Target, and GameStop, games for the new console are still available for preorder with titles also dropping on Thursday, June 5. We rounded up the best Nintendo Switch 2 titles to play on launch day with prices starting at just $39.88 at Walmart.

While it may not make sense to buy games for the new system first, it may motivate you to get the Nintendo Switch 2 later on. After all, you can’t use the console unless you have some games available to play. You can get the games first, and then pick up the console once it’s restocked at online retailers.

We found new games, like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza (which drops on Thursday, July 17), new HD ports of legacy games, like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Kirby and The Forgotten Land, new enhanced releases for older games, such as Hogwarts Legacy and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S, and games that are making their first appearance on a Nintendo gaming console, including Street Fighter 6, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Hitman: World of Assassination, and others.

Ahead, you’ll find the best launch titles for the Nintendo Switch 2 that are ready for preorder online.
