EIT Food Accelerator Network Reveals Cohort of 65 Innovative Agrifoodtech Startups – vegconomist


EIT Food Accelerator Network (EIT FAN) has revealed the 65 agrifoodtech startups chosen for its 2025 cohort.

Hundreds of companies from across Europe and Horizon Europe-associated countries applied for the programme, which aims to connect innovators, experts, investors, and corporates. Selected by over 60 industry experts, the 2025 cohort is aligned with EIT FAN’s six strategic hubs:

  • Circular food solutions – Helsinki Hub.
  • New ingredients and bioprocessing – Paris Hub.
  • Sustainable food packaging – Bilbao Hub.
  • Future-resilient agriculture – Warsaw Hub, co-funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
  • Resilient supply chains & Scope 3 emissions – Munich Hub.
  • Food as Medicine – Haifa Hub.

The startups are all working to address challenges in health, sustainability, transparency, and resilience. Through the programme, they will gain access to mentorship, tech validation, and direct connections with the EIT FAN Corporate Programme Partners, which include Avril, Barry Callebaut Group, Bayer AG, Cargill, Kerry Group, Lantmännen, Mars Petcare, Raisio Group, Unilever Foundry, and many more.

“A spark of transformation”

Since 2018, EIT FAN has supported 348 startups across Europe, helping ventures achieve growth, investment readiness, and commercial traction. Participants receive a hands-on curriculum, expert-led workshops, and access to major industry events.

Some of the startups chosen for the 2025 cohort include:

  • DairyX Foods — Creating functional milk proteins through precision fermentation.
  • PoLoPo — A molecular farming startup developing a cutting-edge plant bio-factory for the high-scale production of animal proteins in potatoes, starting with egg protein.
  • Differential Bio — Using advanced microbiology, lab automation, and artificial intelligence to eliminate bottlenecks in biomanufacturing.
  • FermTech — Producing affordable, animal-free protein using a blend of ancient solid-state fermentation methods and modern biotechnological advancements.
