“This day holds great significance. It embodies faith — in India’s democratic principles,” PM Modi stated while addressing supporters at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude towards the BJP workers, recognizing their remarkable achievement in West Bengal. “Aapne kamaal kar diya hai, kamal khila diya hai (You have accomplished an incredible feat, and made the lotus bloom),” PM Modi remarked.
“Today is a monumental occasion. It is without precedent. When years of hard work culminate in success, the joy reflected on people’s faces mirrors the happiness I see on the faces of BJP workers nationwide today,” he continued.

“As a party worker, I celebrate the joy of every BJP member. Today is significant for many reasons. It marks the promise of a brighter future for our nation. This is a day of trust. ‘BJP from Bihar to Bengal,’ asserts PM Modi
The Prime Minister mentioned that the BJP-NDA has established a government in all states along the banks of the Ganga.
He reiterated his commitment made after the Bihar elections in 2025, that the BJP will govern from Bihar to Bengal along the river Ganga.
“With the victory in West Bengal, the ‘lotus’ is blooming from Gangotri to Gangasagar,” PM Modi declared.

BJP wave in West Bengal
As of 8:40 PM on May 4, the BJP has secured 146 seats in the West Bengal Assembly elections, while leading in 62 additional constituencies, bringing the party’s total to 208 in the state, according to the Election Commission.
The TMC has achieved 53 seats and is leading in 26, raising TMC’s total to 79 seats.
The Indian National Congress (INC) and the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) have each won two seats.
